"S Caps" Product Review

As a runner and triathlete living in the south I realize that I cannot hide from the heat.  We train and race in hot, humid weather for four+ months of the year.   One serious issue is hydration and electrolyte replacement. Over the years I have experienced all of the classic symptoms of dehydration during endurance events: leg cramps, stomach distress, mental confusion, dizziness and mental collapse.   I have a pretty good hydration and nutrition strategy but occasionally can develop issues with calf cramps and stomach issues during high intensity exercise in hot conditions.

During a recent discussion with an experienced ultra-marathoner, the topic of electrolyte supplements came up.  He mentioned "S Caps" by Succeed as the gold standard among the ultrarunning crowd.  I figure ultramarathon runners probably know a few things about hydration and nutrition during endurance events.   He generously offered me a bottle to try.  (Yet another example of the generosity and camaraderie among endurance athletes!)

The "S Cap" is all about sodium replacement.  Each capsule contains 341 mg of sodium (and 21mg of potassium)!  That is 2 - 3 times more than the supplements I had been using.  They contain only electrolytes with no fillers or vitamins that are not needed in an electrolyte supplement.  Another key is the bicarbonate buffers that help stabilize the stomach during intense exercise in the heat.   The S Caps are a no-nonsense product that deliver a dose of sodium and potassium that really works for me.  Simple and effective... I like that.

What are the effects?  I have felt stronger at the end of long bike rides and long runs in the heat and humidity.  I have had no cramps and less lingering soreness post-workout.  Is this a miracle product?  No, but it really seems to work for me.  If you are having problems in the heat I encourage you to test out "S Caps".
They can be ordered at the Succeed website and are very competitively priced at $10.95 per bottle.

(Note:  I am not sponsored in any way by Succeed.  When I find a product that really works for me I like to share it with others who might benefit)
