We have been in the grips of an early, unseasonably hot & humid heat wave for two weeks. It is spreading across the eastern U.S. and endurance athletes are trying to survive. In an effort to help you survive and continue to train through the heat I have compiled a list of articles and links to help you devise a hydration strategy. When it is this hot, hydration is a constant priority.
If you are only thinking about hydration and electrolyte replacement during your workouts... it is too late. You can't catch up once you get depleted.

Thanks for the tips! I am soon to be training for my first marathon and hydration has been a concern. I am going to purchase a hydration pack to help. Thanks for the links! I need all the help I can get!
ReplyDeleteExcellent advice Coach. I now run with my handheld water bottle. It's a must for me now, since I found out I don't take in enough fluids even on a normal day.
